Primary Care Physician, Tampa

Overview

Team Florida is looking for a full time float Primary Care Physician to support our senior patients across clinics throughout the Tampa market. This role sits inside our value based model, where every clinic runs on smaller panels, longer visits, and a full care team built around the physician, so you deliver the same proactive, relationship centered care whether you are covering one clinic for a day or several weeks. You will step into different Tampa area care teams as needs arise, from planned leave to growth coverage, always working toward the same goal and the same quality scorecard as every other Team Florida physician. This is a chance to see the breadth of our Tampa market, build relationships across multiple teams, and help keep continuity of care strong for seniors no matter which clinic they walk into.

What you will own

• Provide comprehensive primary care visits for senior patients at Team Florida clinics throughout the Tampa market wherever coverage is needed
• Use longer, unhurried visit times to build trust quickly with patients you may see for a single visit or an extended coverage stretch
• Partner with each clinic's existing care team, including medical assistants, care coordinators, behavioral health and pharmacy, to keep chronic disease management and preventive plans on track
• Review each clinic's quality gaps, screenings and outcome metrics during your assignment and act on them so no patient loses ground while their regular physician is away
• Document thoroughly and consistently in the shared electronic health record so the home clinic physician can pick up seamlessly upon return
• Work with market medical leadership to prioritize coverage assignments and support clinics through physician leave, onboarding or growth
• Maintain the same standard of proactive, preventive, whole person care at every clinic you support, regardless of location
• Share best practices and mentor newer physicians as you rotate through different Tampa market care teams
• Communicate clearly with patients and staff to make each transition feel steady and familiar rather than disruptive

What we look for

• Active and unrestricted Florida medical license (MD or DO)
• Board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine
• Active DEA registration
• Comfort adapting quickly to new clinic teams, workflows, and electronic health record patterns across multiple locations
• Experience in or strong interest in senior focused primary care delivered through a value based model
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel among Team Florida clinics throughout the Tampa market
• Strong communication skills to build rapport with patients and care teams during rotating assignments
• Full time availability with the flexibility to fill coverage needs as they arise across the market
• A collaborative mindset and genuine enthusiasm for supporting colleagues and patients across many clinic settings
